Celebrities: The Newest Trend In Designer Perfume
In the past years, cosmetics companies were responsible for the creative designer perfume on the counters in ritzy department stores. Names such as Estee Lauder, Chanel and Guerlain, were all the rage, and these companies often did not receive celebrity endorsements of their designer perfumes. Nowadays, celebrities do not seem to want to endorse another designer company fragrance. The Hollywood starlet now wants to have their own brand of designer perfumes and cosmetics.
Are celebrities actually having a stake in things?
The extent that the celebrity is involved in the design of the fragrance that is be sold in their name may vary. Some celebrities turn these tasks in the process over to professionals to complete and simply give their approval after the product is finished. Other are involved in the development process from the first phase of conceptualization to the marketing of their designer perfume.
While Celine Dion may say she was involved in all aspects of the development of her line of designer perfume, that does not mean she donned a white coat and actually mixed the bottles of perfume as a proverbial mad scientist. It just means she was involved in the development process that decided what kind of fragrance she wanted to produce. She also participated in the design of the bottle and its marketing.
Jennifer Lopez is another celebrity who has been involved in the development of her own line of designer perfume. After working once at a cosmetics counter, she knew exactly what kind of fragrance she wanted for her signature perfume. The company that has worked on the fragrance combination, credits her with the addition of key sake fragrance that topped off the perfume. She even suggested that the bottle design include a semblance of a ring or diamond necklace on the neck as a tribute to a penchant for wearing jewelry. Keeping involved in every aspect of the fragrance development, it can ensure that the scent genuinely reflects who she is.
Paris Hilton does not pretend to be involved in all aspects of hwe designer brand, she does, however, take a major role in the marketing of the fragrance. Without her famous face promoting the fragrance, it would probably get lost in the midst of many other perfumes at the local and discount stores.
